If your pony is in work then you must consider whether or not you want to clip them for the cold winter months. Clipping isn't essential in all cases however it helps to ensure your pony remains comfortable.

You need to consider clipping if your pony gets hot and sweaty during exercise. If your horse grows a thick coat they'd break out into a sweat with even a touch of work. It will then take a long while to dry them off after exercise and so they are much more likely to get a chill as they cool down. This also presents a problem from a management point of view as any rugs that you put on will soak up the water and then the horse will be wearing a moist rug.

By clipping your horse it suggests you can exercise them more rigorously and at any time of the day without needing to worry about leaving sufficient time for them to dry. If you're going to be competing or hunting over the winter months then not only will clipping make your pony more relaxed and better to look after but they may also look smarter.

There are plenty of differing types of clip you can give your horse depending on their workload. These range all the way from a trace clip which involves getting rid of a bit of hair, to a full clip which removes all of the hair from the head, body and legs. Many folks choose a blanket clip which leaves the hindquarters covered or a hunter clip which leaves a patch under the saddle and leaves the hair on the legs. This is superior if your pony is going to be turned out.

It is your decision when you clip your pony and how frequently. Many folks will begin to clip from September onwards however some like to wait until Nov or even December to avoid being forced to clip too often. This will depend on your horse’s workload and how thick their coat is.

It is vital to remember that if you are removing your horse’s winter coat then you need to make certain they are warm enough. Their fur gives them protection from the elements and keeps them cozy and warm, you must replace this with turnout and stable rugs as necessary and when exercising you may want to consider using an exercise sheet if only walking or not working hard enough for the pony to get fully warmed up. Exercise sheets can be fleece to keep them warm in colder weather conditions or waterproof to keep the rain off.

If you are going to clip your horse yourself you should invest in some industrial quality clippers and make sure you get your blades sharpened regularly as blunt blades will tug on the hair and will make it uncomfortable for the pony.

A major part of a horse’s diet is hay or pasture. A pony weighing 1000 pounds will eat about 500 pounds each month. A pony wants approximately 28 acres of non-irrigated pasture a year if that is the sole source of forage. But a pasture that is irrigated will grow more forage than dryland pasture, requiring less acreage. The quantity of irrigated pasture required for one horse is roughly 1 to 2 acres.

2 acres of pasture for each pony are endorsed. One acre of pasture will provide adequate grazing, but needs more pasture management. Look after your paddock as you would with any crop by managing manure. Horses won't eat trampled grass or grass with dung on it. Horses will also overgraze smaller areas extremely quickly. a mix of pasture and tiny lot or barn is wanted to help decrease overgrazing.

Don't let horses overgraze the pasture as this can cause grass to die. Keep grass healthy—overgrazed grass may never come back. To allow for re-growth, leave about 1/3 of the grass uneaten at any particular time. The pony can be restricted to the lot or barn and only permitted to graze for a few hours a day, reducing damage to a tiny pasture. Revolving pasture lots are one key to using tiny acreage pasture space to the greatest potential. Portable electric fencing provides an efficient and economical way to partition you pasture. Over-supplementing your pony with hay and grain will not prevent your pony from overgrazing.

Pasture grazing is not absolutely obligatory for a horse. A pleasant green pasture isn't unvaryingly a fact. Horses can be properly fed without pasture. Nevertheless pasture has one or two advantages as it is the natural feed for horses, reduces the cost of feeding, provides your pony with exercise, and in general, horses are usually more fit when kept outside on pasture.

Establishing and maintaining a productive pasture is not too tough. One or two dollars spent on soil nutrient elements for your pasture is a good investment. Manure will help your pasture to become even more productive and produce more feed. Manure costs will generally be offset from good pasture rotating and from savings in feed costs for hay and grain supplements.

I get a lot of horse training questions on stopping a horse from kicking. The kicking habits of these horses range all the way from the pony kicking at nearly any person to kicking at just the men.

It is a dismaying problem that lots of people have no idea how it's possible to cure. That being hence I would like to share some understanding to horses kicking.

First I would like to relate some causes of horses beginning in the habit of kicking. Because a pony kicks is no reason to think he is naturally bad or unmanageable. I do not believe there is a horse alive that's “naturally” vicious. Actually they're made that way due to bad management or ignorant handlers.

Admittedly, there are some horses that inherit the characteristics of their ancestors. But one shouldn't start to break a horse without first taking into account the nature, disposition, and appreciation of a horse.

As an example, there are some horses that are naturally inclined to have a “not so good” disposition. There are certain physical traits you can spot on a horse that indicate what his disposition is like.

Anyhow, now we are able to handle the horse according to its disposition. We can get it just about equal with a good dispositioned pony. All of the difference in the world is because of the management and coaching of the colt. A horse with a “not so good ‘ disposition will require more patience and inclusive work.

All animals in nature have a self-protection of some type. A horse’s self-protection is kicking. Of course , if you work with a horse that gets badly excited by some cause (such as ropes or chains coming in contact with his legs and those parts of his body aren't damaged) his first inclination is to kick it out of the way.

The secret's to break a pony in a way that the habit never happens in the first place. Too many folk think a lesson will be sufficient to educate the pony to be prepared to go. But if you're driving your horse and he's caught under the tail or the cross pieces of the shaft touch his quarters…and those parts are unbroken, it might likely frighten and excite him enough to cause him to kick.

And the worse part is this: Once started, there is an increased inclination to go on kicking until confirmed in the habit.

So the cure is prevention. You have to make all parts of his body submissive to sensitiveness of his extremities. One way to do this is employing a method called poling. Fundamentally, you take a light pole and start at a horse’s nose, rub it over the mane, back, belly, quarters, and sensitive parts of the body, until all muscles become relaxed.

Exactly how much do you express you care for your equine? Apart from supplying them the ideal nutrition and decent grooming they require, be sure to continue to keep them worm-free. Indeed! Parasites are able to bring absolutely serious harm and illness to the horse if not given attention. However, not everyone is qualified with understanding of the proper means of deworming and its results to the efficiency of the equine.

Horse deworming is a procedure wherein parasites that enter into the horse’s system are removed by using natural and chemical substances. It is one of the most important routine for equine care to keep the horse to be in good shape and beautiful. There are various parasites in existence that can infect horses by laying eggs inside the horse and then get passed out in the manure and repeatedly infect other horses. The internal parasites will share with the nutrition that is intended for the equine. Consequently, horses end up unhealthy and eventually will lose pounds.

Ways to Perform Deworming Procedure
One strategy is through combining the dewormer compounds with the horse’s feeding which may be done everyday according to the brand. Yet another is by using a deworming paste in the horse’s mouth. Liquid dewormer can be used with the help of a tube introduced on the horse’s nose and down to his esophagus.
Any method among the three processes is highly effective. On the other hand, giving the proper dosage for the horse’s weight is very important. Under dosage of the dewormer will not work effectively. On the other hand, over dosage due to doubtfulness with the horse’s weight won’t induce any side-effect since the products are reported to be safe.
How Many Times Should it be Implemented?
There is no 100 % assurance of killing and controlling the worms of the equine immediately simply because some worms build occasional resistance to the dewormers. It would seem sensible if the process will be carried out seasonally because that worms have various life cycle. The deworming should be completed before the worms reach their maturity level. Interrupting the life cycle of the worms will stop the eggs from scattering almost everywhere and infect other horses. The aim of deworming seasonally is to eliminate the egg-laying adult worms when they are at their greatest number inside the horse.

The exposure to parasites of adult horses can certainly be the basis of the frequency of deworming. Moist pastures are perfect atmosphere for parasite eggs to survive and it necessitates immediate action as frequently as every four to six weeks particularly if lots of horses dwell together in the area. Providing of feed dewormers can be quite effective also. However, if the chance of picking up internal parasite from other horse’s manure is minimal, deworming can be carried out every three or four months.
Deworming may not be the only effective method to get rid of parasites inside the horse yet having just enough discernment on its main objective and how it should be done will definitely play a considerable factor in keeping the horse healthy.

Unlike the other sports where team ownership is financially unrealistic for the majority of people, horse racing has introduced several ways for folks to take part in pony ownership through racing partnerships. This series of articles will span one or two months so that you can become acquainted with this potential opportunity.

So You Are Considering Owning A Race Pony?
So why buy a race horse you could be asking? There are plenty of reasons behind such a purchase, most are emotional. I adore horses, I enjoy going to the track and watching them race. I enjoy on occasion placing a couple of dollars down on any amount of betting systems. But the most important reason for me is that there's no bigger pleasure then standing in the winners circle after a race when your pride and joy crossed the finish line first. Or listening to an outstanding handicapper of the caliber of Andy Serling (NYRA), letting you know that your pony should win the race.

A race horse like every other investment you can consider needs an experience of the business of horse racing. Beginning simply, there are a few horse racing events you can consider; Thoroughbred, Harness (Standardbred), Quarters, Rodeo, Barrel and Equestrian to name a couple. We will target Thoroughbred Racing because it's the most distinguished and accessible.

So How Does A Horse Racing Partnership Earn Cash?
Your horse will be entered into a race which has prize money or a purse connect to it. Usually the top 5 finishers receive money from the total purse for a race. Here is where the money is earned. So that the kinds of races your horse enters is vital because you don't want to enter your horse into a race where he/she has no risk of cashing in. The money the pony earns from racing goes to covering the price of keeping up the horse while anything left over can be considered profit.

The frequency a pony competes is also of importance because most Thoroughbred Horses race once a month. So ‘cashing ‘ is significant because if the horse doesn't win any money, the maintenance costs still need to be covered. If this is a partnership or complete ownership, the monthly fee is what sets the feasibility of the investment.

Acquiring The Thoroughbred
Naturally, you can go to the Sales and Sales that are happening across the country; receive the list of horses being put up, trace the breed lines for each horse being auctioned and bid on the pony. Of course, this is beyond the scope for most people and will require a great quantity of time, effort and experience. However in order to get into the racing business, this wishes to be done and choosing the right folk to do this research is an element of the equation. It is also, one of the most important reasons that horse racing partnerships became a fascinating alternative. The partnerships have accessibility to this expertise and factor that cost across all of the partnerships they offer.

Step 1: Nourishment

A beautiful coat starts with what is on the inside of your horse. No amount of grooming will make your pony look beautiful if he doesn't get the correct nourishment. A diet loaded in Omega 3 and Omega 6 trans acids is the first step in realizing a healthy coat. There are many methods to do this, and you must consult a vet prior to making any changes in your horse’s diet. Your horse should be fed a quality form of forage (often either alfalfa or timothy hay), together with a concentrate (grain) that contains at least 7% fat and 14% protein. I would recommend a pellet with 9% fat if you can find one.

To this, you can add daily one cup of black oil sunflower seeds, one cup of brown flax seed, one half to one entire cup of corn oil, and 1 to 2 spoons of paprika. (Warning: Paprika may cause a false positive on some drug tests, so utilize cautiously.) Paprika serves the purpose of stopping your horse’s coat from fading in direct sunlight, so a horse that isn't turned out to pasture throughout the day may not need this supplement. As well as these, remember to provide your horse with a trace mineral block containing zinc and copper, both of which affect coat condition. If your pony is eating only timothy hay, it may be useful to add a touch (about a half cup) of alfalfa pellets to your horse’s feed ration.

There also are some generally available products that can do a similar thing as the above recipe. I myself am a big fan of “Dac Oil” which is one of the finest kept strategies of the halter industry. This stuff is completely dazzling and I can’t say enough sweet things about it! Nu-Image and Super 14 also work fine!

Step 2: De-Worming

No pony can have a glossy coat if his stomach if full of bugs leeching away his nutrient elements! It is vital that all horses be kept on a suitable de-worming schedule. Your vet can help you with developing a bug control programme appropriate to the region in which you live. Most top show barns either use a daily de-worming product in their horses ‘ feed, or a give their horses a de-worming paste every 4-6 weeks.

Step 3: Grooming

A good pony should flicker in the sun even if he never feels the touch of a brush, but daily grooming will greatly multiply your results! Top show horses get groomed as much as 2 hours a day. Thankfully , that isn’t precisely required. Fifteen to twenty minutes of daily brushing should be sufficient to get rid of dirt and dust from your horse’s coat and stimulate his oil glands to supply healthy, shiny oils. You should first curry your horse employing a rubber curry brush. This is an exceedingly important step as it removes dead hair and dust. This also brings the oils in his coat to the surface. Follow this with a tough bristled brush used to get rid of all of the dirt and hair you loosened. Afterwards, employ a softer brush to get rid of any lingering traces of dust and “polish” your horse’s coat. Ultimately, you can rub your horse’s complete body with a soft fabric/towel. This will spread all those oils around and make his coat super glossy and soft. If you've got access to an equine grooming vacuum, this may also greatly enhance the look of his coat. The blower attachment of the vacuum helps remove all the dust particles and the suction of the vacuum will further stimulate his oil glands.

Step 4: Caring For The Coat

Now that you've got your dream coat, ensure you protect it vigilantly. For a perfect coat, it is often best to keep your horse inside between the hours of 9am and 5pm, as the bright, direct rays of the sun can bleach your horse’s coat terribly. If this is not possible , keep your pony covered with either a light sheet (in cooler climates) or a mesh fly sheet (in warmer areas) to prevent sun damage. I recommend that you spray him daily with an equine moisturising product that contains a sun lotion. Avoid using any silicone based “shine sprays” on your horse’s coat. These are satisfactory for occasional use at shows, but are not advised for day-to-day use as they really seal the hair follicle and forestall it from soaking up moisture. Keep soapy baths as low as possible (not more than once per month, or before shows), as these futilely strip oils from the coat. If your horse gets sweaty, be happy to hose him off with clean water (as this sweat can dreary the coat as well) but do not use shampoo or soap.

If you follow these easy directions, your pony should be shining like a champion in virtually no time. You can bet at your next show, competition, or trail ride all eyes will be on your beautiful, lustrous pony and you'll have everyone asking you how you managed to make him so. Beautiful!

Shopping for a horse is a huge investment in each money and time, and there are some things you’ll wish to know earlier than you begin looking for horses for sale. Shopping for a horse may be in comparison with shopping for a used car.

Unscrupulous horse merchants will alter the looks or conduct of their horses on the market to idiot you. Even among the many honest horse merchants, most wouldn’t purposely mislead you, however they might not tell you the whole story about their horses on the market unless you ask. Ask the seller some questions that relate to what you are looking for in a horse. Among the following questions might assist you determine if the horse you are taking a look at is correct for you.

Why are you selling this horse and the way lengthy have you personally owned this horse?
Does the horse have any medical problems? Has the horse ever been lame?
How are the horse’s tooth? Have you ever had the horse’s teeth floated?
Has the horse ever foundered?
What sort of worming program are you utilizing?
What type of riding do you do? (Trail, English, Western, Three day Eventing, Barrel racing, etc.)
What do you feed the horse?
How is the horse saved? i.e. in a pasture, in a stall, in a small paddock, alone or with others.
Has the horse ever damage anybody?
What type of training has the horse had? Does the horse have a trainer? Can I name the trainer?
How is the horse with the farrier? Can I contact the farrier?
How is the horse with the veterinarian? Can I contact the vet.?
Does the horse load into a trailer easily? How about unloading?
How is the horse with water? i.e. bathing, walking by it.

Ask the horse owner to show you what his horses on the market can do. Have the owner decide up the horse’s feet. Watch to see if the proprietor can contact the horse anywhere on it’s physique, inside the ears, above the tail, on the flanks, legs, and belly. Watch the interplay between the horse and the proprietor to see how the horse behaves. Remember that if one thing unhealthy is going to happen it is better to have it happen to the guy who’s attempting to sell you the animal!

Watch the horse transfer at liberty. Search for anything that is a signal that the horse could have medical issues, lameness, or a bad attitude. Watch the top when the horse walks, excessive bobbing of the head would possibly sign a problem. Pinned ears or a swishing tail all of the time in horses for sale can indicate different issues.

As a rule, don’t get on any horse first – have the owner ride the horse first. If the owner will not get on, there had better be a superb reason. Ask the owner to bring the horse right into a stroll, trot, canter, change leads, and many others so you possibly can see all the paces. Watch for lameness, size of stride, vary of movement, problems with the appropriate and left lead, etc. If the horse doesn’t look protected, don’t journey him.

There are many other issues to think about when shopping for a horse, resembling whether you like a Mare or a Gelding (we never recommend buying a Stallion until you propose on utilizing him for breeding purposes, and have acceptable amenities to accommodate a doubtlessly aggressive and dangerous horse).

You will also want to take into account the ages, stage of training, and constitutions of any horses on the market earlier than making a purchase, and the way these characteristics relate to your goal for getting a horse in the first place. Watch out to not get carried away with a horse simply because it’s beautiful, and purchase a horse that won’t meet your needs. Remember, a very powerful factor is how a horse behaves and performs not the way it appears to be like in the barn.

Good luck as you search for horses for sale, for those who find the right match, you should have made an excellent investment to convey you satisfaction for many years.

If you're contemplating riding your mini pony, a bridle is a definite must. There are plenty of different types of bridles out there, it’s finding the best one to best fit your mini. Bridles are cut out of leather and infrequently nylon ones get utilized. (I recommend leather because if your horse’s bridle is caught on something while it’s on, the leather will rip before your horse gets hurt and the nylon ones will not) The bridle’s headstall, (leather band across the horse’s forehead and a band behind their ears) attaches to a metal bit that goes into their mouth.

The bit is hooked up to reins that you use to turn and stop your pony. Some bridles have a noseband, which is a band that goes across the horse’s nose and underneath their jaw to keep their mouth closed on the bit. I don't employ a nose band and do not plan to. Some horses require one if they're consistently playing with the bit in their mouth, or if you horse pulls actually hard but I try to make my pony as cushty as practicable with very little tack as possible. And because we are talking about mini horses here, they can not pull too strong so a nose band should not be required, unless you would like one or feel more at ease.

I understand bridles look confusing but don’t let that stop you; after you put one on a horse, take it off, look at all the buckles and what they do, and see how it all connects and fits, it's so simple, you’ll have it down in almost no time. The kind of bridle you're going to get relies on the type/kind of riding you're going to do. It also depends upon what your mini pony does better in. If this is going to be your first mini horse you've got to decide if you want to be a western or English rider. This will outline the kind of tack you use.

Western: Western riders ride mostly out on the trails and in the mountains but occasionally in arenas also. The western saddle is bigger and heavier to uniformly place the weight across the horses back, helping keep the horse more at ease for long arduous days herding cows in the mountains. My folks owns a Hereford cattle ranch in Colorado, and every spring we move our 500 head of cattle into the mountains to graze all summer and in the autumn we round them up and heard them back home for winter. We ride from 5 am tell the job is done. It customarily takes roughly a week to get all of the cows in and it's definitely hard on the horses. But riding western keeps them and us, cushty all day.

English: Generally all English riders ride in an arena doing dressage work. The English saddle is lighter and smaller compared to Western, which keeps the rider in close contact with the horse. This kind of saddle can be used on trail rides if you need, but keep in mind there's no saddle horn. So if you're going to be going up and back down hills, your legs are going to get a good work out making an attempt to stay in the seat. The English bridle has more straps to give the rider better, more reliable control over the horse’s movements.

Reins: It is up to the rider on the kind of reins you use. Most western riders use split reins (2 long individual reins) and most English riders use one connected rein. I ride with both but prefer the two split reins the most.

Bits: The kind of bit you use will depend on your small pony. Usually a regular mini snaffle will work fine. Unless your mini is a complicated one then a more robust bit can be employed with consideration. Softer, less aggressive bits are always the best choice.

Psalm 32:9

Do not be just like the Horse or the mule, which have no understanding however must be controlled by bit and bridle or they won’t come to you.

The Horse is a useless hope for deliverance

“A Horse is a vain hope for deliverance; regardless of all its great power it can not save.”

His Horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! We are ruined!

Habakkuk 1:8

Their Horses are swifter than leopards, fiercer than wolves at dusk

I’ll depart these two verses that contradict with sciences for the biologists to interpret them higher than me.

At the sound of Horsemen each town takes to flight and they’re merciless and with out mercy. The sound is like roaring sea or thunder.

Jeremiah four:29

On the sound of Horsemen and archers every town takes to flight. Some go into the thickets; some climb up among the rocks. All the cities are deserted; nobody lives in them.

They are armed with bows and spears; they’re cruel and without mercy. They sound just like the roaring sea as they ride on their Horses;

Revelation 9:9

They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was just like the thundering of many Horses and chariots rushing into battle.

The whole valley where useless our bodies and ashes

Jeremiah 31:40

The entire valley where useless our bodies and ashes are thrown, and all of the terraces out to the Kidron Valley on the east so far as the nook of the Horse Gate, can be holy to the LORD. The city won’t ever once more be uprooted or demolished.”

How do the Horses appear like? Locusts, human, or lions

Jeremiah 51:27

“…Ship up Horses like a swarm of locusts.”

Revelation 9:7

“The locusts appeared like Horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces.”

Joel 2:four

They have the appearance of Horses; they gallop along like cavalry.

Revelation 9:17

The Horses and riders I saw in my imaginative and prescient appeared like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, darkish blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the Horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur.

Eat the Horses, The Lord instructions

Ezekiel 39:20

At my desk you will eat your fill of Horses and riders, mighty men and troopers of each variety,’ declares the Sovereign LORD.

The Horses trampled the ocean

Habakkuk three:15

You trampled the sea along with your Horses, churning the nice waters.

The colours of the Horses: purple, brown and white, black, fiery red, and pale

Zechariah 1:eight

a man riding a crimson Horse! Behind him had been pink, brown and white Horses.

Zechariah 6:2

The first chariot had crimson Horses, the second black,

Zechariah 6:6 dappled Horses

Revelation 6:2 a white Horse

Revelation 6:four

Then another Horse came out, a fiery purple one.

Revelation 6:5

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I seemed, and there earlier than me was a black Horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.

Revelation 6:8

I seemed, and there earlier than me was a pale Horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They got energy over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Tips on how to make Horses obedient?

James three:3

After we put bits into the mouths of Horses to make them obey us, we can flip the entire animal.

The facility of the Horses was of their mouths and in their tails

Revelation 9:19

The ability of the Horses was of their mouths and of their tails; for their tails have been like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.

Examples of the Mercy:

Blood flowed out of the press, rising as high because the Horses’ bridles

Revelation 14:20

They had been trampled in the winepress outdoors the town, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high because the Horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.

Revelation 19:11

The Rider on the White Horse I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white Horse, whose rider known as Trustworthy and True. With justice he judges and makes war.

Revelation 19:14

The armies of heaven had been following him, driving on white Horses and dressed in effective linen, white and clean.

Revelation 19:19

Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered collectively to make war towards the rider on the Horse and his army.

Revelation 19:21

The rest of them were killed with the sword that got here out of the mouth of the rider on the Horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

The Horses in the Quran:

Surah 3:14

Truthful in the eyes of men is the love of issues they covet: girls and sons; heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; Horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and nicely-tilled land. Such are the possessions of this world’s life; however in nearness to Allah is the perfect of the targets (to return to).

Allah made man love ladies, sons, gold, silver; Horses, cattle, and well-tilled land. This that means of inherited human behavior and custom is just not talked about within the Bible.

Surah 8:60

In opposition to them make ready your strength to the utmost of your energy, together with steeds of battle, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others apart from, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the Explanation for Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be handled unjustly.

It is a prophylactic verse to forestall wars between nations.

Be prepared with all of your energy, after which your enemies will be afraid of you.

Little question that USA is the first country following this verse.

Surah sixteen:8

And (He has created) Horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He Creates (different) things of which ye don’t have any knowledge.

Allah Creates what we do not know.

This verse preceded the sciences at any time, now and within the future.

Learn my comment at my article about the Donkey.

Again to the main difficulty of my series of articles; this is my question to you good readers: “Is the Quran quoted from the Bible”?
